Advocating for comprehensive anti-discrimination laws that protect LGBTQIA+ individuals in employment, housing, healthcare, and public accommodations. Pushing for the passage of the Equality Act or similar legislation at the federal level.
Transgender Rights
Ensuring access to gender-affirming healthcare, including hormone therapy and gender confirmation surgeries. Fighting against discriminatory policies that target transgender individuals, such as bathroom bills and restrictions on gender marker changes.
Youth and Education
Supporting inclusive education policies that teach accurate LGBTQIA+ history and provide resources for LGBTQIA+ youth, including support for Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) in schools. Opposing conversion therapy and advocating for laws banning its practice.
Access to Affirming Healthcare
Working to make healthcare more accessible and affordable for LGBTQIA+ individuals, including mental health services that address the unique challenges faced by the community. Advocating for culturally competent healthcare providers.
Housing and Homelessness
Addressing LGBTQIA+ youth homelessness by supporting programs that provide shelter and resources tailored to their needs. Advocating for affordable housing policies that prioritize the LGBTQIA+ community, especially transgender and non-binary individuals who face higher rates of homelessness.
